How does the Reading Room borrowing system work
In the Reading Room you can borrow books from the library storage (loan period - one month with possibility of single renewing for next month) and books available in open access shelves.
Books in open access shelves are marked with different colours of spin labels to identify different loan period:
- green – one week loan collection
- blue – overnigt (Mon-Fri from 19:00 till 9:00 the next day) and weekend (from Saturday 13:00 till Monday 9:00)
- red – for the on-site use only
You can order books:
- through online library catalog, excluding books available in open access shelves (those books you should report to librarian on duty) → Look at borrowing by Aleph system instruction
- by ordering them in Customer Service Desk, if the require book is cataloged in card catalog only
Order accomplishment time is 15 minutes in most situations, but it depends on number of orders.
Ordered books should be pick up in 2 days in the Reading Room. After this time, books will be returned to the library storage.
Order accomplishment is confirmed by an e-mail. Remember about updating your e-mail address in your library account (library online catalog – bookmark My library card, Address)
Please be advised that you are charged a daily fine for each item not returned or renewed by its due date. Fines are accrued at 50 zloty per item per first day + 1 zloty per item per every next day for books with blue labels and 1 zloty per books per day for other books.
