More important information about lending system

At 22:15 starts the library system back-up. It may last about two hours and at this time library catalog is temporarily unavailable.

Students may have on loan no more than 18 library items at the same time – regardless of the location from which the items were borrowed, students enrolled at two faculties may have on loan 25 library items but only if they obtained the prior approval of  the Library Director.

The loan periods for library materials vary based on the material type. They are indicated in the on-line catalog.

Books are loaned only to readers who have an active library account, in person, on presentation of a valid Student ID Card. In special circumstances  (doctor-certified sickness absence due to severe illness) books may be borrowed on behalf of the user by a third party.

The library items do not need to be returned in person. Please return  books to the Library by the due date or renew them.

Please be advised that you are charged a daily fine for each item not returned or renewed by its due date.  A fine may be reduced in exchange for a prescribed number of hours of work at the library.  The value of volunteer work is 13 zloty per hour. This amount multiplied by the number of hours of volunteer work will be subtracted from your total library debt. You may also - instead of paying off the debt -  donate some books from your personal library worth not less than the debt. The titles  of the books  must be approved by the librarian on duty.

In case of a loss of a book or damage to a book, the library user must:

Purchase an identical book, or it’s newer edition; or
Donate another book/books on similar topic, approved earlier by the librarian on duty; or
Pay the total amount as compensation for the loss or damage to the item – based on the actual value of the  book.

WARNING !!!  There is an information about book condition placed inside each book - "book clear" or "book damaged" (by pencil, marker, water etc.). Please check this information on-site in the Library and report your remarks to the library staff. After that, complaint won’t be considered.
